I thought of actually giving you guys an update on my progress so far.
First little facts about the game.
Croc dentist is an action game for little kids. The point of the game is to push the teeth of the croc, but don't push the wrong one or he will bite you.

Whole thing will be done in 3ds Max, too bad that max doesn't have paint effects so maybe i will import some brushes into the scene, haven't really decided on this yet.
So here's the actual model I build for this contest. There will be some minor things i need to change but thats the base so far.

Nice!
intereting concept . going to give it that horible plastic look in your final render or go for a more realistic look ?
I think he might be better off just sticking with the plastic look because the object itself is toyish.

Looking nice, I'd have to say go for a realistic plastic look ;)

I think i will go for a realistic look. Real plastic in a real nice environment that is. Too much real in one post :) Expect an update soon

I reshaped the model to look it more like the real one. Since i'm a big fan of Maya's Paint Effects i will move to Maya for the rendering part.

Nice sharp lines, though I'm a little confused as to how paint effects are going to work with your croc.

I just finished the Shaders/Textures, not that there are that many :)
As for your question shamoii: Expect to see some paint effects in the next update.

ok here is a new picture, hadn't much time lately and on the final day i happen to have a job interview, so this might be the final picture. there are a couple things i would like to add if i find the time, like some more vegetation, detail in the sky and on the ground and maybe z-depth

Thank you guys, before i get in the car for 5 hours here is the same picture but with depth of field. My interview will be in exactly 24 hours then the way home another 5 to 6 hours so maybe i can add some stuff to the scene, we will see. If not then this will be my entry.

Depth of Field really gives the scene some edge... Great work & good luck for your interview...

Nice Work, filmgrain!
Only issue is that the depth of field is a lillte big to strong. It seems that the stones etc. are blured in photoshop.
