Here's a shot at what I think you are trying to achieve.
I would import the files as is in P/shop then make selection for each view and CMD/CTRL J to copy to a new layer.
Once this is done you can discard the bakground layer and change the canvas size to "A"-wide and "D"-height.
Positon each Top and Side view so the they are both centered in this new image size then align the front view so that the wheels are on the same level.
You may have to tweak and scale the views a bit so that they are exactly the same in relation to the relative perspective then save out each layer naming it according to the ortho and you should have your problems solved.

CMD = Command
DMd I dont see in hotsteppers message not sure what youre referring too.

This is what I would do, wich should be similar to hotsteppers method.

Take the image you have into photoshop and copy the layer 4 times. This way you end up with a view for each side you will create. Than crop the image accordingly. One for each view. Front, Back, Side, Top for your image. Now you should have each piece on a layer of its own. Take each layers transparancy (on top over the layers in the menu) and tweak it to about 60% or similar so you can look through the layers. Tune each layer one by one so you dont end up looking through all 4 images wich should be a bit confusing. Take the Top first for instance than place the side on the layer underneath, take the % down and rezise the side accordingly to the top making sure they are the same length. Repeat this step for the front and back as well and you should end up with perfect image planes, ready for import in Maya.

There are also many tutorials on the net on how to do this manually, take a look in google and type in the search - Photoshop Image Plane Tutorial

On one of the training videos Kyle even goes through the process of creating these planes and resizing them in Photoshop I beleive, not sure wich Kit it was however. I'll take a look later, Good Luck to you manwhile:)
