Hi, I'm new here :hello

I'm wondering something about components. Why exactly do we use the IsoParm? I really wonder it. :) And I have a more question: What are Volume Surfaces?

Thanks...

Isoparms are like edges in polygons. If you have a degree 3 surface, maya extrapolates the shape based on the position of the CVs and three isoparms. Try making a nurbs cylinder and then delete all the isoparms on one side. You will notice that even if you put cvs on the side with no isoparms and move them around, the surface will not change very much.

Isoparms are needed in areas the have lots of detail. Try creating primitive and adding or deleteing isoparms and then manipulate the CVs. That should get you the hang of how they work.
