I just purchased a couple of the digital tutors e downloads. I cannot open up the project files inside of Max. Please help.

Firstly, welcome to DT! Which kit and what project files are you trying to open? Also, what version of Max are you using? You can also submit a ticket to DT's tech support as they are able to assist with product-related issues.
