Hey guys im having trouble installing mental ray on my computer. Is it already installed once you install maya 2008 or no? Sorry if this is a newb question but thats me =(

Welcome to DT! Yes, it comes installed. But you may have to activate the plug-in. To do that, go to Window > Settings/Preferences > Plug-in Manager and make sure Mayatomr.mll is loaded. You can choose auto-load if you want it to load every time Maya starts.
