Getting Grids To Show

I am trying to model with a plane, but every time i select grid to be visable, i only see the grid AROUND to plane, it not showing up OVER the plane, and that is very annoying because i need to see the grid OVER the plane to model. ALSO dose anyone know how to make the OUTTER EDGES of an object "Thicker" like a object highlight? Please post if you have Any information.

try moving the plane to how u want it. to make an object thicker as in a thick edge then extrude it, maybe if u pasted a screen shot as to what problems u having might help.

To make your outter edges thicker go to windows>settings/preferences>preferences>polygons then check the border edges then type a prefered number on the edge width.
