xml and Mel integration

how can I read the start frame and end frame from maya, and pass the data to an XML file?..

Hi there. What exactly are you trying to do? I can imagine you can generate an xml doc using mel and have mel save the data to the file. Try the Ask DT feature and we may document the process in a video.
