I mean cmon, 40 odd-something million dollar budget and nothing good came out of it? Visuals really bad? Chunky cheesy script? If theres one thing they messed up it be promotion coz ive never even heard of it. But then cg movies like hoodwink didnt have a loud fanfare either, but it didnt bomb did it?

Honest opinions ppl, not just because some review site of reknown stature, apparently never got dibs of any of that $40m, trashed it doesnt mean you snowball along. Please give your opinion as 3d artisans. Cheers

I've been hearing about Delgo ever since I started learning CG. There was a tutorial on facial rigging using clusters on one of the characters of Delgo. At that time it looked really good, of course at that time CG feature films were still blossoming.

Now I haven't seen Delgo yet but just by watching the trailer I can see that the plot is very predictable. Some insignificant status dude falls in love with a rebellious princess from the enemy tribe or whatever, FORBIDDEN LOVE! They'll save everyone and live happily ever after.

I admit that sometime even overly used plots can still be interesting, and it also might be that Delgo was released at the wrong time. As far as Hoodwinked goes, it didn't had the best CG but the plot wasn't predictable.

To me, Delgo's CG looks more like it belongs in an adventure/RPG game than a feature movie.

i remember seeing a few things on Delgo, i think, something like 4-5 years ago. like DjVoyager i also came across the rigging tutorial. it was a neat piece to read.

the movie looked interesting back then. but, since i was just getting into 3d animation, everything 3d looked awesome to me:P however, i only ever saw things dealing with it when i was on animation websites. there were never any promos for it on tv, in the theaters or anywhere else, so hearing that it was coming out this year really surprised me. especially since i thought it had been shut down:|

i haven't seen it yet, but, to me, you can definitely tell that this movie has been delayed for a few years. the animation and style doesn't look terrible, by any means, but compared to other movies out there now, like wall-e, kung-fu panda, horton hears a who and even clone wars, it just doesn't look like it'll be able to stand out and be recognized as anything spectacular. it just looks a little dated now which could turn some people off it~~'

i might check it out when it comes to dvd, but i don't think i'll be paying $10 to see it in the theaters.
