Hi Everyone
I have seen different stuff on the web about making eyes like pixar does. I even seen one that had someone from pixar comment that there eyes are not made from different pieces , but from one shader. Does anyone know anywhere that might show how to go about doing this?
Thanks

Let me start by saying that pixar as you might know, uses the renderman to render out the images. Currently it's even available as a free download at their site Ibeleive since it has been integrated into maya finally. DT is one of the firts to really cover it deeply in one of their kits and its fabulous, goes into great detail what the renderer can do wich is really amazing. I would say check out the kit to get a good start on how to make the shaders in maya look really nice with the renderman renderer. Than you should be able to use a single shader as used on bubba in the bwb project and just render it inside of maya with the new renderer. Hope that helps a little and clears up a few intitial questions. Got to watch the German soccer team now be back later ;) Good luck to ya.
The shader has a built in specular highlight at the top if the eye. That said the eyes always look wet and they have a lot of depth. It is pretty hard to pull off on just maya shaders.

i saw some work on eyes using subsurface scattering and that is the natural phenomena that makes eyes the way that te do.
