Nov 08 / Sushi Table

Hey im a fan of japanese food
so I decided to do a sushi plate

I will do it fair quickly cause I dont have a lot of time to work on it

so my level is ... kind of low

im using maya 2008
I bought few digital DVD's to learn last summer
and my computer crashed so I lost 5DVD's...
so I never learned a lot
I started the eclipse (car) but I dont have the time to continue it so I do few small project that help me to get better
I started to learn 3D 3weeks ago (or something like that..) by doing a turtle posted on the forum... my first real 3D art in maya

now Im modeling a scene with a robot, explosion and maya paint (tree&grass)
and modeling that one for the november contest

I did the sushi plate, the sticks, a kind of kapkin and a bamboo sushi mat
next... sushi and dinning room
I dont know if it will be in japan or america

I hope you'll like the final scene
I had an Idea...
maybe a modern "private" terrace
with 1-2 tables with 2chair on each
outside with a sunset view
probably on a balcony

heyhey if your planning to do something with sushi and the exterior, you should try a low table ( like they use in china) with some pillows to sit on..

but thats just an idea:P

its looking great so far so keep it up:D

I really like the Idea
I wanted to create a modern table-chair and make something more "american"
but you're right
low table + pillows will be in the theme and perfect for the scene
and Maybe I can do a wooden floor with paper wall... and a japanese lamp

Sushi is great! You can use either bump to show little rice sticking out of the wrap or model a few and place on the top.

Hey thanks for the pictures
I want to try a bump map but im not that good with bump mapping
so maybe ill have to make few rice model and put it on the top

I did a quick model of a low table + pillow covered with a... covering

I just saw the deadline
I'll have to do the project very quick
Tomorrow I leave and I'll be back on december 2

and today... I cant work on it
so let's buy some coffee for the night!!
Ill be ready for the deadline =) and ill do better for the one in december (more than 2days to do it)

Don't worry about finishing everything by the deadline. Try to get the modeling completed and post the best render possible. Good luck :)

dead line was yesterday
and im not from the contest... =(
missed time... I had a bug in maya... textures turned all white and I'Ve been unable to correct it before leaving home so... I cant work on it until tuesday

sorry... ill finish my work anyway and post it here... and try to be in the contest next month!
