Love this tutorial, but I have a question for the instructor:

Would you suggest any changes in your approach, or additional techniques, for modeling cars of the thirties and forties? The example you used to demonstrate is a sleek modern body type. Would there be any differences in approach when dealing with the larger, curvier wheel wells and body side panels of these older classics?

Thanks!

First let me say that I use Maya primarily, so I'm more referencing the Automotive Modeling in Maya when I say this, but I found many of the techniques in the Automotive Modeling kit applicable to modeling aircraft. The techniques they show are very helpful for any hard-body (non-organic) type model. I'm sure that the 3ds Max kit is the same. "Time saving" is a very relative term because everyone works differently, everyone has a different computer setup and no two projects are exactly the same. For example, I can model hard-body objects much faster than I can organic models simply because I have a lot more experience with them. I have my own techniques for particular trouble areas that I tend to come across with my models that I've come to use through trial, error and watching DT's kits :)

My advice is to give it a shot using the techniques you see in the kit. Feel free to let us know if you have any issues along the way! Good luck!
