render out some iff fiiles, like this "test -render_1.iff.8".

however, there is some error like this. once i open animation in the fcheck. the fcheck immediately restart.

when i open the sequence with after effects, it shows "after effects error: photoshop file format error 1".

i change the files like this, "test -render_1.iff". the error is still the same. wht happen? the maya render view could open the file as normal. wht should i do for this?

I assume the problem you are having is with the nameing. First of all try importing a single .iff file as a picture into after effects to make sure you have the right plugins installed. Once that works, make sure you name your file like:

filename0001.iff
filename0002.iff
filename0003.iff
filename0004.iff

In the render globals you can change the nameing to look like that so that everytime your render it works fine. Then you can import that as a sequence in after effects.

Try to use a different file format for AfterEffects like tiff or tga instead of iff.

try to give frame padding .. set it to 3 or something.. which is nothing but the no. of digits in the ext .. like instead of 5 its 0005 or 005 as per the padding value... use name.#.ext and use tga or tiff as the output file.. if u have already rendered the images .. try converting files using fcheck to tiff or tga... but i dont know whether fckeck will be able to toggle format and ext places...

some plugins are available which can convert the iff files to tiff and also change the format for u..

in case if u have a tga file or tiff file and u wish to change it to some other file sequence... use irfan view or fcheck....

enjoy.. :)

i had tried to rename the file as 001, 002, 003.........
it still cant be imported into the after effects.

Did you change the file format to something after effects can use, like .tga or tiff? Unless you have the .iff plugin for after effects, you need to use photoshop or fcheck to open the .iff file and save it as a .tga.
