Cut Curve Tool

Hi Everybody!
I'm modeling a head using the Nurbs Method. I've just finished to draw all necessary splines, and now I've to Cut them, but I don't know why I can't cut the 2 circle Splines which are the Eyes.

I post the scene.

what i did on your model is just redo all the curves that make up the eye and cut the circles befor you get to far and that worked. I dunno im sure theres an esier way but thats all i could come up with
