Real quick.
I created a custom shelf using Maya 2008 Unlimited and I want to use the same shelf commands and images on Maya 8 Complete.

How do I go about this?

I have added the shelf into my prefs folder and even updated the images path used in the shelf to point to the correct locations. however I keep getting a error message about the shelf referencing to missing instances or something like that.

Is this even possible?

Thanks in advance for any advice

Dan

I know you can do it from 2008 to 2009 ,but i am not sure if you can go from 2008 to 8.5 .Someone will try that and help ya.

Thanks for taking a look. I grabbed some other shelf mel files and opened them up with a text editor and I did not see anything that my file had that grossly differed from them. So scratching my head on this one. I would love to know how I could use this.

I found the issue. Seems that the issue was still in the Bishop shelf file I created. Since I was using Maya 2008 when adding shelf shortcuts you get the option of using Mel or Python. Well Maya 8 does not recognize that lingo and since my file was referencing that the shelf would not load because it . I removed all occurrences of that reference and also moved the Photoshop files I created into the Icons folder and removed the reference of them from the Bishop shelf file Maya 2008 created and all is good now.

Have a great day all!
