We could really us a updated training disc for Mental Ray in XSI 7. There are so many new things and So many of the parameters are not int he same place as in the exiting Mental Ray in XSI Video. is very hard to follow.
Is there anything in the works for this?

In fact i have the Rendering Interiors in XSI, but they use xsi6, so i stop at the passes thing, because i don't know where i can go.
It could be great, if DT staff make some free tutorial vid of the new Render Manager, how to set up passes in xsi7.
Now i don't know where are those "make local to current pass or copy this pass to global" buttons....
Please, if someone knows a tutorial for this..
Thanks in advance. ;)
I second that. I'd buy tutorial that overviews XSI 7 passes, explains new render manager and new mental ray features (irradiance particles, portal lights) in a heart beat.
There is new tutorial for passes for Maya, something like that for XSI 7 would be just awesome.
continuing previous post... if you don't mind me asking, is there plan for a DVD that puts some light on rendering passes, explaining in general new render manager in XSI 7+ ?
I think it would be awesome if you guys had "coming soon" or "planed" section on your website. if there was ability to vote that would be even better, it would give you idea of what people are after the most and perhaps help you decide what to work on? seems to me like everyone would benefit from that.
Thanks,
Karol

Count me in on buying an update to the Mental Ray and Rendering Techniques discs. Since so much of the content of these tutorials is still relevant, I recommend that you put out an update DVD that fills in the gaps created by the changes to the software since XSI 5.

They definitely need to make a new DVD for mental ray, including shaders, passes etc.
But more advanced stuff, far too many beginner DVD's at the moment imho.

I'm not an XSI user personally, but isn't mental ray in XSI almost exactly the same as mental ray in Maya? So you could use the mental ray for Maya kits to learn the processes and adapt them to your XSI workflow.
