Hi all,

just doing the pipes on the 2nd edition tutorials for the jetBike,,

For some reason my nurbs cylinder will not bend correctly when dragging the vertices... it just totaly mashes the tube?

any ideas so I can crack on with it..

Edit: hmm strange I just imported the scene itself done by tutor and its looks terrible on the pipes.. this is eluding me , oh well perservere I guess..

It looks like you don't have enough divisions in the tube to make it deform properly. Try going to the isoparms compnents and then middle click and dar one, then go to edit nubrs->insert isoparm.

You migh also want to try hitting "3" just to make sure it is being displayed properly.

And, is that windows XP with a mac skin on it?:)

LoL, yeah its xp with a stlyexp theme :)

well its in the best mode to view the shader on it,, ive tried that ,,, um what else...

the cylinder is made of a nurb base same as tutor uses and shows u how to do... with 10 spans 8 section, totaly identical.. the pivot points when selecting the vertices are centered to that selection etc so its not that, and the main tubes pivots are where he places them in the centre line of the main model... all checks out of per instruction. its just im getting totaly deformed skin and he is not.. ive even tried grabing the nearest hull sides and rotating them to see if i can pull out the pinching, but alas no joy..

kinda puzzled about this..

Well im about to call it a night, its driving me nuts now, ive tried all I can think of, even new drivers for gfx card etc... turned on and off all options etc for direct3d/gl as well.. still the same.

Hardware render on shaders on/off, u name it ive tried it, went into nurbs prefs in the general pref menus and raised shader divisions from 4 to 8 to see if i could see a change, nothing.....

well i did a standard render of the pipe and all was well it seems, but the general viewport modeling is ugly as sin,, it really does bother me.. specialy when following tutorials and they just dont seem to have that problem..
