Large renders with Shave

Just wondering if anyone has been able to render out big renders with shave.

I am trying to render out a 5k image and just get blanks. The render completes and post processes but no hair in the render.
I've tried with software and mental ray. Iv'e tried batch rendering and onscreen, both blank.
Shave globals are set to buffer mode.

If I change the size to 1k it renders fine so I know its not a scene issue.

I am running vista 64/maya 2008 64/shave 5 64 with 4 gigs of ram.

I dont seem to be running out of memory so im not sure whats going on.

Hello there. I don't know if you can go that high with the shave buffer. You may want to get in touch with Joe Alter for more assistance on this matter.

Thank you sunder for the reply. I got in touch with Joe and by using the hair primatives I am able to render for print not with the buffer as you said.
