Emit particles on collision?

Hi. I have been looking around for an answer to this, but I havent found anything, so I ask here. I got two lightsabers that I want to emit sparks when they hit eachother, just like in the movies. Are there a simple way to do this, or you know a good tutorial? I'm pretty lost in the particles and dynamics area, so I hope you can help! :)

You can make them both softbodies and create an event that emits more particles.
