Here is my first shot of the Aquarium, I am going to try to make it as realistic as possible.

Can't wait to see this progress. One question: Are you going to have the tank fill up that room for the final scene? I'm just wondering whether it will be a bit of a struggle making sure that the window in the back lights up the room as well as the tank.

I kind of changed my mind about the window and room. It was going to take to much time trying to fill the room and do the tank, plus animate.
So here is my new look

Pretty nice. I would suggest to lower the glow on the light just a wee bit so that it doesn't distract from the rest of the objects in the scene.
P.S: So far none of the aquariums have gravel. You guys prefer sand over gravel? :)

Actually I do want to do gravel.
I am looking for either a way to have an image of the gravel, with some actual gravel rocks or redo the hold bottom in gravel rocks with collision to make them stack up.
Just have had time to sit and think it through yet.

Ok, so here is what I'm up to. I got the trial version of RealFlow 4 and I watched part of the tutorial of Maya and RealFlow intergration. So I know how to create and export my work into RealFlow. Now I am at the point of actually creating the daemons for the water, but not sure what step to take. I just want the water effect on the glass and an object in the water. My object is going to be a small sub moving in the tank from one end to the other. I may be making this more complicated than it needs to be.

So basically my concept is to have a mini sub go from one side of the tank to the other and maybe do a turn or something. So here is the Sub I have called it Prometheus.

Now I just have to find a place to put this logo and drop her in the tank.

Nice sub. It looks like something Stuart Little would get about in:)
So far as RF4 for the water, I wouldn't be using it unless your sub is going to break the surface. I used a tweeked ocean shader for the surface of mine & I think it looks fine, for about a millionth of the effort.
I also couldn't get RF4 to work for the gravel & had to resort to a nCloth surface exploded into 16k teeny tiny little bits. Although if yours is going to be stationary, some instanced particles would work just fine.
Hint: delete all the particles you can't see.
You could try maya dynamics for the gravel though your interpenetrations would be insane & I don't think it would solve by Oct  .
Hard to tell from your render, but it might be difficult to find a big enough spot on your sub for your logo to show up in project resolution. You could always break it up so you have the "DT guy" (is that Papa?) on the nose or similar & the writing on the auxiliary prop housings or above.
As a side note I prefer the old "DT guy", he just seemed less..... intense.
Is that a file or procedural sand texture under your sub? If the latter, how's it done?
Also, while obviously it wouldn't be visible from the exterior, I think it is very important for every vehicle (including submarines) to have a horn to honk.
