Hi,

Im not sure if any one else has gotten this problem. I run 2 screens at the same time and watch a tutorial on one and have maya open on the other. After i watch the movie for a few minutes (and pausing the movie to fix things up in maya) the video tuorial goes green and my CPU usage goes upto 100%. THe only thing i can do is shut the tutorial down. The audio also goes haywire. Im using a quadro fx 500 video card if that makes a differnance.

cheers - and quite frustrated,
Danny

Are you playing the video on your Main monitor? Try moving it there...

well, I have also heard the green screen thing happen when you have a conflict between the different codecs on your system... It will be hard for me to tell you exactly which ones, since I don't know what's on your system. You might also try searching the net for QT problems related to your graphics card...

hey man,
dont forget you could watch DT tuts in maya using the built in web browser,

hopefully this wouldn't cause your screen problem

I've got a Quadro FX 500 on both my home systems as well, and I've never had any problems with any of the training on either. Check to make sure you have the latest driver and then go ahead and update Quicktime also.

Im sure its a codec problem or a conflict of some sort. can i just deleate all my codecs and download some new ones from somewhere? where are they normally located on my system?

thanks,
Danny

I know that some codecs are located directly in QuickTime, so the only way to get rid of the is to uninstall QuickTime.

You can also find codecs here:

Start Menu > Control Panel > Sounds and Audio Devices > Hardware

Just make sure you know what you are deleting...
