Hi all:

Just some quick questions before dropping $1,000 on Renderman for Maya.

Anyone have experience with Realflow and Renderman together --- are the meshes/output appreciably better than the standard Maya renderer?

Also, is Renderman a more efficient renderer? In other words, is it faster --- or better output for the same amount of time?

Thanks for any info.

The subdiv scheme feature works nicely with RealFlow meshes, smoothing them out at render time. It's 10x better than Maya Software renderer. I personally think its easier to control and gives infinitely better results.
One thing you might want to be cautious of is lack of caustics in the current version. It's supposedly slated for the 2.0 release.
