I noticed in DT modeling training all models which have sharp edges are created by 2 edge loops? Why they didn't use the crease value?
I also wanna ask. What to better use 2 edge loops or the crease value? It depends on a model or something?
Thanks

A little addition. Why they don't use the bevel or the bevel with 2 segments?

If i'm going to use SubD's i prefer to use loops, if not i use Bevels.
As for creasing, DT may be re-using assets across different applications so if that's the case they wouldn't want to use creasing. Just my own opinion..

Hi Compote,
Revert's correct in thinking that a big reason to use edge loops rather than creasing is portability of the mesh. If I build the hardness of the edges into the model, then I don't have to worry about keeping creasing values if I convert back and forth between poly and subd, or take the polygon mesh into other applications. As for the best way to get those edges, I usually use Insert or Offset Edgeloop and the Split Polygon Tool, but you can certainly us Bevel as well.
