New Introduction to CAT in 3ds Max 2013 Tutorial

The Introduction to CAT in 3ds Max 2013 tutorial is now available for viewing.

Time flies when you’re training with Digital-Tutors! It’s time for new sneak peeks as we preview what’s coming in August (besides more summer heat). In today’s sneak peek we’ll preview the new Introduction to CAT in 3ds Max 2013 tutorial (this tutorial is also applicable to previous versions of 3ds Max with the CAT plug-in).

In the new Introduction to CAT in 3ds Max, members will learn how to take advantage of the Character Animation Tooklit plug-in. We’ll start by learning how to create a wide variety of rigs using CAT’s standard rig presets and then learn techniques for creating your own CAT rigs.

The tutorial then goes on to cover skinning and show how to save our rig as a custom preset with accessories. We’ll learn about CAT IK/FK capabilities, and cover efficient animation techniques. If that doesn’t already sound like a must-watch, we’ll then delve into CATMotion to generate and edit automated walk cycles, and finally conclude the course by exploring CAT’s muscle system. By the end of this latest 3ds Max tutorial, you’ll have the skills to use, and tame, CAT confidently! Apologies for the bad pun.

Look for more sneak peeks this week and check out all of our 3ds Max tutorials in the Digital-Tutors training library.
