Preview: Creating Game Characters with ZBrush and TopoGun Tutorial

The new Creating Game Characters with ZBrush and TopoGun Tutorial is now available.

It’s new sneak peek time on DTLabs and today we’re previewing our first tutorial covering TopoGun – a powerful topology tool used in the character creation workflow. In the new Creating Game Characters with ZBrush and TopoGun tutorial, we’ll cover how to use ZBrush and TopoGun to convert a high resolution character into a lower resolution game-type model.

Sculpting applications are great for creating highly-detailed models, but to be able to rig, animate or integrate these models into a game engine, artists first have to convert the model to a much lower resolution. TopoGun is a great tool for taking detailed meshes and allowing us to very intuitively redraw this new topology.

By the end of the tutorial, you’ll have created your own game-type character from a very dense sculpt and have the knowledge to repeat the process on your own creations.

Check back more later today as we sneak peek the first Digital-Tutors Unity tutorial and training.
