What you will learn
In this tutorial, we will learn about maquette modeling workflows as well as concept drawing, sculpting, and presenting.
Throughout these lessons, we will understand the process about how to create a visual concept image, and turn it into a 3D maquette in ZBrush. We will cover everything from understanding the concept to converting it with DynaMesh, and create a presentation image for a client. A lot of conceptual modeling workflow tips will be covered in this tutorial, which can improve anyone's ZBrush modeling skills.
So you can merge the part on the head and the hand. And everything combine together and make the character. So this is sort of like a new way you can design a mesh and make the creature. But I tried to show you the original way as well too. So let's get the head on here. So let's go back to the 3D scheme I have. So we are building amateur from the ZSphere. So ZSphere and converted. And we know already about putting it onto the skeleton. And let's try to change this way. So let's append ZSphere. So ZSphere is in here. Go into ZSphere. Too big. Bring it down. It's our tongue. [INAUDIBLE] actually looking our [INAUDIBLE]. So let's click [INAUDIBLE]. OK. So let's go inside this-- [INAUDIBLE] quite small so it's actually hiding everything. [INAUDIBLE] screen. Press [INAUDIBLE] here. That's great. Yeah. We have the transparency [INAUDIBLE]. Let's make that disappear so you can see it. That way. And I just press accent on the symmetry on x side, the x-axis. And let's go down. So start like this. So draw the line. So we're basically reading those [INAUDIBLE] plate and it's a [INAUDIBLE]. Almost like it. [INAUDIBLE]. That's gonna become a leg. Add extra split in here. And rotationally. Sorry. I to remove. The side is note [INAUDIBLE] much. The other way. OK. And an extra. It's [INAUDIBLE]. And new point. Spinning this way. Move this one to here. [INAUDIBLE]. [INAUDIBLE] bigger. Move to center. And amateur's not really complicated. It's very simple. It's just [INAUDIBLE] the body. So we don't have to worry about it too much time in here. That's gonna be the shoulder bone. And the head over there. All right. [INAUDIBLE]. Push him right. And-- So basically the 3D skin is always in that symmetrical, because a human body probably is not perfectly symmetrical. So don't worry about this side. You just focus on the one side only. And supposedly we have one other tool like the symmetry, the symmetrical. So don't worry about it too much. And too big. [INAUDIBLE]. And some hands. And add another one. Some hands in here. That's it. Let's move the thumb position. So try to reduce. My [INAUDIBLE]. And another [INAUDIBLE]. Push in right. And-- oh, sorry. Come here. Go. Looking for a finger. Let's see. We have space for one more. Basically under [INAUDIBLE]. And it's the same process over and over. Push it right there. And one more finger. OK. Looks like the finger's too thick. So let's go in [INAUDIBLE]. Right. Add an extra. Let's counter the other part nicely. Oh, sorry. So the finger fits in nicely in here. And the hand is right. Head looks right. Left to right. The finger is smaller. It doesn't really matter. You always [INAUDIBLE] the mesh and [INAUDIBLE]. This [INAUDIBLE] nicely. OK. OK. The head. I'll start drawing on here. But we just want to reach the head. And neck's too thick. So add [INAUDIBLE] and scroll down. [INAUDIBLE]. It cannot match perfectly, but it should be OK. So let's go [INAUDIBLE] here. [INAUDIBLE] part. So [INAUDIBLE] becomes a head. OK. Add some more shoulder here. This is more [INAUDIBLE] slightly. Also come in and press more. And [INAUDIBLE] the side. So now when you [INAUDIBLE] this is how it looks like, the skeleton. And once you turn this one too [INAUDIBLE] basically [INAUDIBLE]. So you can convert it and see how it looks like it. And you can increase the [INAUDIBLE] more higher. So you can see the finger. And the shoulder. And the [INAUDIBLE]. That's the human form. So we actually [INAUDIBLE] from here. Because it was the [INAUDIBLE] so we're actually converting the creature. So we'd [INAUDIBLE]. I prefer [INAUDIBLE]. Looking like that. So this is slightly different than what we expect. So dog leg or pig leg is more like this, bending the backward way. It's a right triangle. It's another way to concept [INAUDIBLE] how you're creating the creature. You can play with it [INAUDIBLE] after moving on to the other way. So, OK. Let's see how it looks like it. Then check [INAUDIBLE]. It's OK. So let's go over to this scheme. So we can go to [INAUDIBLE]. If you turn on [INAUDIBLE], you can [INAUDIBLE] everything. So now you can actually start drawing and including everything. Start to draw. Yeah. Let's make it that way.
