Lesson 7. Using layer linking to connect multiple layers and save time
In this lesson we will learn how to do a single track for obstructions, create new layers to subtract them, and connect our matte layers to our quick track to get translation data. This is a good hybrid of the hand key and the tracking method.
mocha and After Effects (Project Files created in mocha v2 and After Effects CS4)
What you will learn
In this series of lessons we'll learn a variety of techniques to deal with difficult tracks and learn how to modify and apply mocha data to any type of layer in After Effects. We'll begin this project by creating a base track file to begin working off of. We'll then learn how to animate our track spline around any objects that break our track. Once that is done, we'll learn how to create mattes of our obstructions so they no longer are seen by our track. We'll then learn several different methods of applying these mattes and some time saving tips for a more efficient workflow.
