Substance painter is a very powerful tool for creating high quality textures. In this course, Substance Painter Fundamentals, you are going to learn the fundamentals of this popular tool. Before jumping into the software, you'll learn why and how mesh data can be used to procedurally texture a mesh. Next, you'll go through the entire process of setting up your project within Substance Painter. Finally, you'll learn about baking all essential maps and you will understand how to use the software in a studio environment. By the end of this course, you will have a strong understanding of the UI and be able to use several different methods for manipulating materials, resulting in a final portfolio ready render than can be used for your own personal projects.

About the author

Victor Kam has worked in several roles within the gaming industry. He started straight out of school as a level designer at Electronic Arts for the Need for Speed series where he learned what it takes to build worlds with design and gameplay in mind.
